The two volumes are held apart by a glazed link so the house never presents a single continuous wall to the beach. From the water it reads as a pair of low pavilions; from the approach road it is almost entirely screened by planting.
Every terrace level is set flush with its interior floor, with linear drainage concealed at the threshold. The infinity edge is cut in a single run of honed stone, and the pool is lit from below the coping so the water carries the light rather than the deck.
