Casa Mira stands on one of the elevated plots above the lake, on a street where houses change hands perhaps twice in a decade. The design abandons the usual symmetrical villa plan in favour of three linked pavilions arranged around a shallow water court.
Reception, family and guest accommodation each occupy their own pavilion, so the house can be closed down to a third of its footprint when the family is away. The water court is not ornamental: it cools the air drawn through the cross-ventilated link corridors, which run without mechanical cooling for much of the year.
The interiors are deliberately unadorned — lime plaster, pale stone, and joinery in bleached oak. The house has never been publicly marketed.

Architecture
Built to be
lived in slowly.
The three pavilions are identical in section and different in length, which gives the composition its rhythm without resorting to ornament. Walls are finished in hand-applied lime plaster over insulated block, so the surface holds light differently through the day.
Openings are square and deep-set, with no visible frame from outside. The water court is 300mm deep, lined in dark stone, and detailed to hold a perfect reflection of the west pavilion from the entrance hall.
